Joe Muñoz, Ashley Rodriguez Ousted from American Idol

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 26 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Seems like Joe Muñoz didn’t make the impact necessary to stay on Season 9 of American Idol on Fox. Muñoz seemed surprised and was at a loss for words.

“America votes, so … I wasn’t expecting anything. I was just waiting for things to happen,” he said.

This sounds like one of the toughest first rounds recorded in the show’s history.

Along with Munoz goes Tyler Grady, Janell Wheeler, and Ashley Rodriguez as well.

Rodriguez seemed genuinely irritated by her elimination, but she thanked “Everyone who has supported me from day one, my mom, my dad, my family. I love you guys.”

Let’s see what else is in store for this American Idol Season 9 episodes.

American Idol airs Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7pm CT on Fox.

Idol: Joe Muñoz Rises To Challenge

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 25 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Joe Muñoz is a guy we saw very little of earlier this season on Fox’s American Idol. The 20-year old Californian sang Jason Mraz’s “You and I Both” on Wednesday nights Top 12 guys show. He looked a little nervous at first, but his voice eventually shined through and rose to he challenge. He needs to work on the stage presence. He could do well, if he doesn’t get lot in the shuffle.

Here’s wat the judges said,

Ellen: “Great stage presence – I loved it.”
Randy: “You’ve got a great voice. I think you worked it out.”
Kara: “In terms of the singing, tonight, I think you’ve been the best.”
Simon: “I think it was an OK, forgettable performance. In 10 seconds we’re gonna forget that performance.”

One of the top favorites on Fox’s American Idol competition, Andrew Garcia, got the last spot of the night for his performance in the Top 12 guys show last night. The stay-at-home father sang “Sugar We’re Going Down,” from Fallout Boy, a song well-suited for his voice. He sounded pretty good, but not quite the power of his earlier performances. He was still one of the best of the night though.

Here’s what the judges said,

Simon: “I was disappointed with that. It was too indulgent and not original enough. I don’t think tonight you took a risk.”
Kara: “I really like you and I hope we see you for many many weeks.”
Randy: “Listen, I’m a fan of you. Go back to being you.”
Ellen: “When you shined was when you started smiling and opening up. We like ya.”

Ashley Rodriguez Misses With Idol Performance

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 24 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

A female contestant is going to win season 9 of American Idol. That’s what Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell have been telling journalists during their early-season press tours, and that was also the point driven home by Ryan Seacrest at the start of Tuesday night’s telecast. ”You’ve said that it’s gonna be the girls’ year. What is it that stood out about this group of girls?” he asked Simon, before any of us had seen a single live performance from this year’s Top 24.

Ashley Rodriguez, according to internet betting site Bodog has 7-1 odds of winning before Tuesday night’s broadcast, was the second performer of the night on Fox’s American Idol. Dressed in a white top, silver jacket, a gold chain and heels, she gave Leona Lewis’ “Happy” a shot. Unfortunately, she seemed to miss.

While Kara DioGuardi said there were “nice moments” and she expected Rodriguez to move on in the competition, there also were “definitely moments that weren’t great.” Randy Jackson said the song didn’t allow Rodriguez to show who she was, and Ellen DeGeneres suggested she “take a risk” next time.

“This isn’t going particularly well for you, is it?” Simon Cowell asked Rodriguez.

Cowell called her performance “clumsy” and said he didn’t like the arrangement.

“You could be in trouble after tonight,” he said.

What did you think of her performance?

Charlie Sheen Enters Rehab, Wife Has Kids

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 24 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Charlie Sheen’s publicist says the actor has entered rehab and is taking a break from the hit CBS show “Two and a Half Men.”

Publicist Stan Rosenfield wrote in a statement Tuesday that Sheen has voluntarily entered rehab for an unspecified reason and is seeking privacy.

“As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility,” the publicist wrote in a four-sentence statement that did not specify why Sheen, 44, was seeking treatment. The statement sought privacy for the embattled actor.

Sheen’s bosses expressed support for the actor in a statement that said production of “Two and a Half Men” would temporarily stop.

“CBS, Warner Bros. Television and (Executive Producer) Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary inpatient care at a treatment center,” the statement said. “We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter.”

The statement offered no timetable for when the show would resume taping.

TMZ reports Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, currently has the couple’s two children at the rehab facility she is at.

Mueller’s facility allows children to say with patients, according to TMZ.

Sheen entering rehab comes roughly two months after his arrest in Colorado after being accused of holding a knife to his wife’s throat and threatening to kill her. Sheen faces a felony domestic violence charge in the case.

If you thought MTV’s new “it girl,” Jershey Shore’s Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, was all boys, boozin’ and bikinis, think again. The Long Island native spent some time this week kicking off another cause very close to her heart: a new music and dance program for children with autism and other disabilities, initiated by Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE).

“It was so amazing watching hundreds of children singing, dancing, drawing, cooking, children that had autism five years ago and were so irritable that they couldn’t touch someone, and now they’re all holding hands and smiling,”she said. “Art to me is one of my number one passions, so it was an amazing experience to watch them sing and re-enact Broadways plays.”

Tito El Bambino Leads Premios Billboard Nominations

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 11 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Tito ‘El Bambino’ leads the nominations for the 2010 Billboard Latin Music Awards with 18 for his album El Patrón and the single “El Amor.” Following him in number of nominations are reggaetón duo Wisin & Yandel, up for 14 awards and urban/bachata stars Aventura, up for 12 awards. Regional Mexican singer/songwriter Espinoza Paz is a finalist in eight awards while Luis Fonsi, Banda el Recodo and La Arrolladora Banda El Limón are up for six award each.

The Billboard Latin Music Awards, presented by State Farm, will be broadcast live April 29 from the Puerto Rico Coliseum on the Telemundo network, marking the first time the awards show–the top-rated special on the Telemundo network–travels to Puerto Rico.

A new category to the awards show is the addition of a Latin Digital Album of the Year category, which joins the already existing Latin Digital Download of the Year and Latin Master Ringtone of the Year categories. Billboard has also created a signature Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories, reflecting an artist’s performance on both the Latin Songs and Latin Albums chart. As a result, the Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year categories for both Latin Singles and Latin Albums has been removed.

The contenders for the Artist of the year category reflect the leading finalists for the awards, with Aventura, Wisin & Yandel and Tito ‘El Bambino’ all competing, along with Luis Fonsi.

Finalists for the New Latin Artist of the Year, (artists who are new to the Billboard charts) are El Compa Chuy, Jencarlos, Larry Hernandez and Makano.

This year’s top finalist, ‘Tito El Bambino,’ benefited not only from strong sales of his album El Patrón, but from a radio-friendly single, “El Amor,” that traversed every single Latin radio format in the country. Wisin & Yandel also had strong sales from their album La Revolución making them finalists in the Latin Artist of the year and Latin Album of the year. Plus their hit singles made them finalists in multiple categories, including two in the Hot Latin Song of the year, vocal event, for their collaboration with Enrique Iglesias (“Gracias a Tí” ) and Akon and Aventura (in “All Up 2 You).

Aventura is also up for the Latin artist of the year award and Hot Latin Songs artist fo the year, duo or group award, while their album The Last is up in the Latin Album of the year, among others. In turn, Espinoza Paz, who’s had his break-out year, is up for the Songwriter of the year award (which he also won last year) as well as Top Latin Albums artist of the year for releases that include Yo No Canto, Pero lo Intentamos.

Other multiple finalists included Shakira, up for five awards, and Paulina Rubio and Nelly Furtado, up for four awards each.

Finalists to the Billboard Latin Music Awards were announced during Telemundo’s morning show, “Levántate,” with different artists reading finalists live from four different cities.

Anahí Defends Album To Critics

Posted by badboybroadcast On February - 10 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Former RBD member Anahí’s first solo CD Mi Delirio isn’t exactly winning over some critics like Horacio Villalobos, a really influential TV host in Mexico, who thinks the CD is a big let down for her fans, and didn’t make the best of Anahí’s talent. The show he was on, Farandula 40, stepped on her CD and then threw it in the trash.

Watch the video below..

Not one to hold her tongue Anahí shot back that she’s not about to let any negative vibes in her head.

“It saddened me because for this guy it’s garbage, but for me and my fans it’s a dream come true, and it’s in really bad taste because it’s as if he was stepping on the dreams of many people, not just mine, and I think there are better ways to say things. I respect his opinion and respect that he thinks my album is garbage, but I think there was a better way to say it.”

Anahí’s fans went on attack mode and defended their idol, even threatening the lives of the show’s hosts. Anahí had a message to her fans…

“I do not pretend that everybody likes my record, I only care what you think; my fans and not the rest of the people.”

Besides the critics, Anahí says she is also having problems with her record label distributing her album. Saying the label (EMI Music Mexico), is used to an artist that sells in Poland or Croatia.

But despite all the struggles, Anahí said she’s keeping a good attitude and enjoying the love that her fans and followers give.
